Sustainability at Appleberry Atelier

Stationery (however big or small in size) also carries an environmental footprint, and that is something Appleberry Atelier is facing head-on. We are increasingly aware of the environmental impacts our industry has on the natural world, and we are cognisant of the impacts our business has on the community and environment around us. We have made a commitment to earnestly endeavour to measure, minimise, and mitigate these impacts to our utmost ability across all operations in our business.

A key ethos of our business is to avoid producing anything that fits into the standard ‘take- make-waste model” and instead curate pieces that have sentimental heirloom value.
With this in mind, we aim to use materials that have been ethically and responsibly manufactured and sourced. Most of our packaging is made from recycled/biodegradable materials and is designed to be reused before eventually being recycled. We strive to use as little plastic as possible in our packaging while ensuring the product is safely secured during transit and delivery.

Where possible, we prioritise working with local suppliers and using materials that have minimal environmental impact. We have a rigorous supplier selection process and try in earnest to source materials that are certified sustainable, biodegradable or compostable. We are aware that by the nature of our product, it can at times, be wasteful. We have streamlined our manufacturing process to ensure that all materials and resources are used as effectively and practically as possible.

Our Ethos

Appleberry Atelier is a female-managed business, and we are continually advocating for the empowerment of women in the workforce. We have and will continue to foster a culture of value and support, not only within our business but also within the Stationery industry as a whole. We will continue to support our community in whatever way we can, whether that is through hosting work shadowing opportunities or collaborating with local charities.

At the core of our business is a love of fine artwork and craftsmanship. To ensure future generations can continue enjoying our joint appreciation for fine art, we are committed to protecting and preserving the natural environment in every capacity we can.
We have made a firm commitment to never shy away from our impacts and instead to
continue to search for ways to minimise our footprint through careful resource use and material selection.
