Top Tips: How Do We Word Our Thank you Cards?
Once the confetti has settled, often the real challenge couples face is what to write in their thank you notes. The basic formula is to always remember to greet the guest, express your gratitude, be specific about the gift, and thank them for attending.

When making specific reference to the gift, tell the giver how you will use the gift. For example, “We love the cappuccino maker and use it every morning. We can’t live without it.”
Make sure to check and re-check to make sure the person you are thanking for a gift is actually the person who sent it. Aside from misspelling a guest’s name, nothing is more embarrassing than mixing up guests and gifts. One way to ensure accuracy is to write the thank you card as soon as you open the gift.
For monetary gifts, on the other hand, thank them for their generosity without mentioning a specific amount. You may even wish to say something like “Your generosity will help toward the refurbishing of our new kitchen.”
Here are some wording examples to help you to write your thank you cards:

Joe and I would like to thank you for your support and encouragement throughout our engagement, planning the wedding and being there for us on our special day. It has meant so much to us. Having you by my side, keeping me calm just makes you the perfect bridesmaid any bride could wish for! We had a fantastic day and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Some quick tips:
- Make sure to take note of gifts received in a gift list as you open them. This will save confusion later. You could use an online gift tracker such as the one offered by Moposa.
- Save yourself some time and buy your thank you cards when you are purchasing your invitations. That way you can match them to your invitation suite.
