I would like to order stationery for an event which is not a wedding, is this possible?
Yes, of course, we can design invitations for any occasion, we also work with corporate clients all the time. Please contact hello@appleberryatelier.com to tell us more about your project!
Do you have a minimum order amount?
We can print any amount of invitations however we have a minimum spend which is equivalent to 20 units.
I only need 10 invitations why do you have a minimum fee for 20?
The reason there is a minimum order is due to built in costs we have whether we print 5 invitations or 500!
We are a small design house and each order is set up from scratch just for you, not bought off a shelf ready to go. Some of the the minimum built in fee covers:
- Admin, packing, rent, credit card fees, and other general overheads.
- A personal designer to set up your invitation and prepare your proof, do any changes you require.
- A client co-ordinator to set up your order and answer any initial questions you might have.
- We send your order to a printer who has his own basic built in setup fees again, whether you need 5 or 500 invitations, and then pack up your order.
How many invitations should I order?
We recommend you order at least 10% extra invitations. A great way to see how many invitations you need is to count the number of households you need to send invitations to and then add 10% for spares. This should capture your couples, families, singles and allow you plenty of spares!
What is included with my invitation order, do I need to order envelopes, RSVP cards and details cards separately?
We sell all pieces individually so you can pick the pieces which you need. We also have a full range of embellishments which you can add to your invitation order to make it more unique.
Can I change my order details after I have placed my order?
Yes of course! We are always really flexible with your order, you can make adjustments to your order right up until your order is ready for print. We confirm all of your order details, including print spec and number required during your proofing, if changes are required your order can be adjusted accordingly.
Please note a design fee will apply if a piece is removed from your order after a proof has been created.
I placed my order for one design but now have changed my mind, can I change the design?
Yes of course! If you have not started your proofing you can change design choice before receiving your first PDF proof. Please keep in mind that if you are swapping to another design from a different range, and we’ve already done a proof for another design an extra charge may apply. Please contact your client coordinator if you would like to change your design before your proofing has started.
What is the process once I place my order for venue invitations?
After your order has been placed, your client coordinator will send you details on how to submit your wording once you are ready to see your first proof.
If you have ordered a new illustration, your order will first be passed to our artist.
Once your wording has been received your order is passed over to your designer.
Your designer will be in touch in 5 working days with your first PDF proof for you to review. 2 rounds of proofing are included with each order so you can perfect it for print.
When your order is ready for print, we will send you our final checklist for you to submit your approval and will request any final payment. Once this has been completed your order is sent to print.

Proofing and design
When can I see a proof of my venue range invitation?
After your order has been placed and your wording has been received your first PDF proof will be received within 5 working days for standard venue orders or 2 working days for expedited orders.
How many proofs are included with my order?
After your initial PDF proof, 2 additional rounds of proof are included. If required additional rounds of proofing are available and each additional round is €20.
How can I help speed up my proofing process?
The best way to help speed up your proofing process is to review your first PDF proof very carefully to capture all of your changes in 1 go. Print* it off, and read your text and check your spelling. It’s a great idea to have someone else look over your proof also.
Your 2nd PDF proof may then only have very minor adjustments and your final proof will be ready for approval to print.
*Suggestion to print is to check text and spelling only. Colours will not be reflective of your actual invitation.
How accurate is my PDF proof?
We have designed our PDF proofs to be as accurate as possible. The first page of your PDF proof outlines your order spec. This will show all the pieces you have ordered, sizing, paper choice, amount and any additional printing requirements.
Your proof will then go on to show you each piece which has been ordered illustrating the requested print spec. Each piece will be printed as shown on your proof.
Please note that colours will look different on screen than on paper, as it will vary depending on your monitor settings. Colours are especially different when viewed on smartphones/tablet screens.
If you are concerned about how colours will print, we suggest ordering a hard copy sample of your invitation design.
What should I check on my proof?
You should check that your print spec includes everything you would like to order and that the paper colour and amounts are correct.
For your design, you should check that all spelling is correct, that you are happy with the layout, all the items are included, all dates and information is correct and the colours you have chosen are correct.
I’ve noticed an error on my proof spec, what should I do?
We only print the amounts, pieces and embellishments listed on your proof spec and invoice. Your print spec on your proof should match your invoice 100% and your proof will illustrate all of your ordered pieces.
If you notice any discrepancies or if something you expect to be included is not listed or shown please e-mail your client coordinator immediately, due to human error please do not assume anything and ask if you are unsure. Appleberry does not spell check any text sent in to us.
Appleberry Atelier will not accept any responsibility for errors captured after your order has been received which are due to poor proofing.
Can I change my design after I've received a first proof?
Yes, if you decided to change the design after your proofing has started that is no problem, however, a design fee of €35 would apply. Please contact your client coordinator if you would like to change your design after your proofing has started.
Can I include a line to write on my guest's names?
Yes, any of our designs can be worded to include a line for you to write on your guests names or we can print the names on for you.
Can I change the text colours and fonts of your venue range designs?
Yes, complimentary changes to ink colours and font are included with all orders. Please see our design guide for options. If you change your mind, 2 rounds of changes are included in your order.
Can I change the wording on your sample designs?
Yes, your invitation can be worded in any way you like.
Can I use the artwork which was used on my invitation for my wedding website etc?
Appleberry Atelier does not release artwork for reproduction outside Appleberry Atelier. All artwork including custom and template designs are copyright of Appleberry Atelier and cannot be reused without permission.
Printing
How long does printing take?
Printing takes 10 working days for standard orders and 15 working days for specialized printing. Working days are classed as Monday – Friday. Please note that Irish bank holidays are not counted as working days.
Why does printing take 10 working days for standard orders and 15 working days for specialised printing?
We are a design house, not a printer. All of our orders are placed into a queue with our printer, who also has other clients.
What is specialised printing?
Specialised printing includes letterpress printing, custom foil printing, custom pocketfold. These printing methods require extra time due to the printing processes involved. Letterpress printing and custom foil printing require new plates to press the ink/foil into the paper. The ink/foil is then added 1 invitation at a time through letterpress printing.
Custom pocketfolds require die cutting to create the shape and then require hand glueing.
These processes take time and can’t be rushed.
What printing methods are available?
We offer digital printing, foil printing, and letterpress printing.
Can I get a hard copy sample of my invitation design before printing?
Yes, with the exception of letterpress and foil printed designs. This is recommended if you are unsure about how our colours will print.
Some couples like to request a hard copy sample of their main invitation or invitation suite once they have completed the design process and before the entire print run takes place. This service is available for any of our digitally printed designs and will show your invitation will print. A hard copy sample of your invitation is €20 which includes regular postage.
Hard copy samples take 5 days to be printed and are then posted to you for review. Please note that including a hard copy sample will increase your overall production time.
Due to the processing involved for letterpress and foil printing hard copy samples are not available.
